Zones, or areas, feature a characteristic theme that sets the characters, description and equipment found there apart from other areas on the MUD.
Each zone is described by the contents of several different text files that are loaded into the game at boot time. For example, the area entitled "Arctica" is zone 6. These files load the characteristics and descriptions of all of the rooms, doors, mobs, objects and procedures found in Arctica. A .txt file describing assembly items or special procs helps the implementation team at release time.
