- Only characters with the indicated alignment may equip items with specific alignment designations. For example, if an item carries the G flag, only players that are good-aligned may equip the item. Conversely, items with the E flag may only be equipped by evil-aligned players.
- Some spells in the game may alter the alignment of items. The clerical spell, REMOVE CURSE, will remove the E flag from an item. The mage spell, CURSE, will remove the G flag and replace it with an E flag.
- Spells cannot remove ANTI-EVIL, ANTI-GOOD or ANTI-NEUTRAL flags.
