Scholars and diplomats of all the lands travel to the lighthouse of Wealtheo, leader of the wise owls. They praise the learning and skill of these feathered champions of light who are ever-watchful for trouble at sea and in the hearts of men. Those who have returned from the lighthouse speak of the hospitality of the owls, but hint that there is a darkness in the place that made them glad to return home. Only players under level 20 may enter the Owlery.

Various clues left on a range of mobs in the area will allow you to assemble this holdable relatively quickly. Make sure you junk the empty aged, claw-marked scroll case because it will block the final bundle load.

General Zone Strategies:[]

Make your way to the southeast corner of the tower and enter the Grand Staircase. Find the well-patrolled corridor and defeat the barred owls that block access to the central flight shaft. The Barred Owls will assist the PC/NPC with the highest alignment, in some cases attacking one another. Having a low AC (around -100) tank will ensure they are dispatched quickly.

The second floor features the Parliamentarian and the Poet Chaucer, who provides some clues to the in-zone quest.

Defeat two more sets of Barred Owls in the central corridor to gain access to the Third Floor of the Lighthouse. Beware! There is a DT up from the 3rd Floor Central Flight Shaft. (Alternatively, use your B30 to suggest all the barred owls to sleep. This makes for easy re-running of the area.)

Find A Holy Shrine in the se corner of the third floor and defeat the Statue of Nike for a feathered key. Return to the Central Flight Shaft and descend a half-level so that you are between the second and third floors. Unlock the ne door to Sanctuary of the Goddess with the Nike feathered key.

Defeat Athena (!magic room) and use her key to unlock the NW door in her room and gain access to the Sanctuary of Wisdom. The Owl statue is aggro, so be prepared. Pick the secret south door in the Sanctuary of Wisdom (need to be flying) to find Wealtheo, who resists phys, and his key to the prisons.

Return to the Lighthouse Entrance, and in the Study nw of the Dining Room, open the unlocked trapdoor in the floor. Beware the DT in the northeast corner on this basement level. Proceed south and west and defeat the Archivist for his key to the Altar of the Beast. The Archivist will cast plague on group members, so have a restore handy.

Proceed to the next room west and use the key to the prisons to unlock the trapdoor down in Amongst the Shelves. Defeat or sleep the blocking owls and descend to Down into a Dark Cave.

Descend another level into a Dark Cave, moving counter-clockwise until you come to the trapdoor above A Shrine to the Beast. Defeat or sleep the aggro! voles along the way. Defeat the aggro! Tyylull and unlock the trapdoor with Wealtheo's key. Aggro! Rapnet occupies the opposite end of the semi-circular cave map.

Beware the three assisting strands of darkness. Sleep the strands with a naked mage as they will toss and energy drain. Run basic Bard debuffs on Chchitt. Glow and go. Chchitt will purge glow so be prepared. The Shrine to the Beast is an !exit room, so park your cleric above in the dark cave. (If you have a sohei, just strike it down and forego the rest.)
