- The Desert was designed as a connector zone, an intermediate pathway much like the Dragon Sea, connecting a series of zones in a more coherent way. The Desert is roamed by the mystical craftsman Bazalel, who is rumored to be searching for someone worthy to conduct his quest. You may also find Katri, a ranger trainer here, as well as the Mad Monk, Onophrio, raving about a dream whence Rome has fallen to the hordes of Alaric.
- Beware the rickety rope bridge, a DT that has claimed hundreds of victims.

- Watch the Death Trap east of the drop landing from Midgaard. The desert is a maze of rooms, so it's quite easy to get disoriented and end up going east into the DT. Keep in mind that tracking Bazalel or Katri or the Brass Dragon may lead you through the DT.
