Adding to JediMUD's ever-expanding footprint on the web, we've created this wikia entry in the hope that those of us with an intimate understanding of the game will continue to pass on our expertise to the next generation of text role-playing gamers. ? It's a long shot, as platform, handheld and mobile applications have all but killed the text RPG.

Mud administration is nearly non-existent, as several devoted players have rescued the game and have offered their own CPU and networking in order to keep the game accessible to what small playerbase remains.

Not all textMUDs are suffering: though their numbers are also down precipitously from mid-90s heights. ? Creativity can come in many forms, and not all of them must be visual to gain traction with those of us who love the genre. ? TextMUDs, especially JediMUD, offers more than simple experience or equipment: ? it offers a context with the history of multi-user gaming, it offers a liviing fossil record of the relatively fast progression from mainframe text gaming to mobile app game development. ? The community is still intact, as many of the oldest players still frequent Midgaard Temple.
